The main differences are:
Purolator: Metal endcaps, more filter media, can't remember how the bypass valve is made up
Fram: cardboard endcaps
They cost the same, or close enough where it doesn't really make a difference.
The generic orange canister Fram oil filters are considered to be of inferior quality due to outsourcing of their manufacturer. If you use these, change frequently, as they might deteriorate with prolonged service.
Also, I compared the fuel filters for a Mercedes - Fram vs the Mercedes brand. Fram was vastly inferior - it looked cheap by comparison. I would never use the Fram.
No Such Fram Filter
Purolator 60362 is not in the FRam Filters cross reference guide.
In my opinion, the Purolator is the better filter. The Fram and Purolator are similarly priced, yet the Purolator has better construction and more filtering media.
Purolator A35370
There is no Purolator equivalent.
Purolator L34361
The part number for either Fram or Purolator is the same, PH8170. Fram at Autozone is $9.99. Purolator at AdvanceAuto is $17.00.
Fram PH 4967
PL10241
My advise is to stick with Purolator which is a superior filter to Fram. But if you insist then the Fram is PH7317
Fram PH7317 or DG7317
PH25 is a filter made by Fram no matter what brand it is. If you want to use a quality filter instead of a low quality Fram then use a Purolator L20033. Be sure can check the Purolator application guide to be sure.
