ok so a HDD is basically a bunch of spinning cds that a laser writes information on. So, when you delete a file or folder off of a HDD, it dosnt just go away... its written over by useless code that dosnt read to anything so another file can be written over top. If done properly, you can actually retrieve these files because they are still there, just you cant see them, and the computer dosnt reconize them, because there are files over top. Its almost "buried". A flash drive is similar, except there are no spinning plastic disks. Instead magnetic fields trap the electrons in a certain order which forms codes, which then forms files. once its gone, its gone. you cant retrieve any files off a formatted card, because the that sequence of code is gone. EX. a flash drive is like holding back a bunch of Golf balls, that exact order of golf balls, in their exact location make a certain folder. As soon as it opens up, that exact order of balls is lost forever, unless you re-load the file back on.
there is no difference!
A memory stick
they are removable optical disk
Portable audio devices count as removable media because modern digital recording devices interfsce with modern audio editing tools ie Adobe Audition, Audacity & ProTools
The only non removable storage device is the hard drive. In some instances you can purchase a larger hard drive but it is not removable in the way that a flash drive is removable.
