early pregnancy bleeding will probably be more irregular if you are used to a regular cycle, it will be lighter and shortr than a normal period usually, probably a more pinkier or brownish color, none or little clotting, smells different from a normal period, early pregnancy bleeding and periods can be such a pain to tell apart sometimes, and everybody is different most times it can be separated because it has those considerable differences

Good question! By vaginal bleeding, I assume you mean from a cut. Blood from a vaginal injury would be very bright red, just like if you cut your finger. It would not immediately slow down because there is no way to put direct pressure on the wound.

However, menstual blood is a bit darker than fresh blood. Menstrual blood first "pools" in the lower part of the uterus before beginning to flow through the vagina. This delay is why the first blood can be lighter, and small amount. It's also why women bleed heavier first thing in the morning-- it pools in the uterus while sleeping, then when we stand up the blood begins to flow out. You will also notice clumps of tissue sometimes, called clots. Clotting of fresh bleeding from a cut looks different from menstrual clots. Also, many women wonder why their period ends with a brownish, light discharge. The older the blood, the more brownish it looks. The uterus must expel all the old blood, so to a woman it looks like a very light, and brown discharge.

Menstruation causes vaginal bleeding but vaginal bleeding can also be caused by other factors like a tubal pregnancy, an abrasion in the vagina or on the cervix.

Menstruation is simply the breakdown of the uterine lining. Vaginal bleeding that is not caused by menstruation needs to investigated, it could be from a tubal pregnancy or other internal problem that could be dangerous to your health.

You probably won't have a period during pregnancy. It will more than likely by implantion bleeding, a cervical change that causes vaginal bleeding or a miscarriage.

On Tuesday you forgot to take your pill until very late at night and on Wednesday your period came and now it is heavy but you are not supposed to have your period for two weeks should i be concern?

If your periods have been irregular in the past it is possible to have breakthrough bleeding after missing a pill. If your periods have always been regular or this period seems markedly different than your regular periods you should call your gynecologist. Continue taking your pills to prevent pregnancy and make a note of the occurrence to discuss at your next exam even if the bleeding stops after resuming your regular schedule or seems like a normal period.
