Jet-a -40 jet-a1 is -47 c
This is does not provide the price quotes for commodities. Jp54 is an abbreviation for "Jet Propulsion, A1, Colonial Grade 54" and the International Air Transport Association - IATA has the prices the airlines have paid for jet-fuel at the various airports.
No , there is no such product as JP54 Colonial grade. just broker myth on silly websites . 20 years ago there were jet fuels graded JP 4 , JP 5 JP 8 JP 9 but these were jet fuels for Military Aircraft and the different grades were based on the different additive given to the fuels .These additives were literally based upon the air temperatures the fuel had to perform under . These have now been phased out a long time ago and there never was a JP54 grade. Now in effect Military and Commercial jet fuel are from the same basic products A A1 with additives added by the military depending on what engines and performance they need.
Aviation fuel. There is aviation gasoline, Jet-A and Jet-A1 civil jet fuels, and the JP series of military jet fuels.
Jet A, Jet A1, Jet A50, JP 4, JP 5, JP 8, Jet B, RT and TS-1. All are kerosene based fuels.
There are many types of fuels used for aircraft. there are aircraft that run on normal unleaded and diesel fuels but the typical aviation only fuels are avgas (usually leaded 100 octane or 130/110), Avtur (aviation turbine), Jet-A and Jet A-1. these are the typical fuels you will find. Avgas is mainly used in general aviation whilst most airliners/jets use jet-a1.
It is a special kind of fuel used in jet planes
It depends upon the temperature.
The fuel for Jet aircraft, Jet A and Jet A1 is usually sold in weights, this being Kilograms or Pounds.
The primary types of jet fuel is Jet Fuel A, and Jet fuel A-1, the difference between the two is their freezing point (−40 °C vs −47 °C for Jet A-1). In almost all other regards (such as autoignition temperature, density, and open air buring temperatures) the two fuels are nearly identical.
Black Hawks use jet fuel. You can use any of these fuels in one: Jet-A Jet-A1 JP-4 JP-5 JP-8 In a real emergency when aviation fuel wasn't available, you could run kerosene or diesel in it, but that's not something you do if you don't absolutely have to.
