for one crocks get alot bigger then gator, and 2nd gators have a big round blunt nose as the crock has a long pointed nose

Unfortunately this is a typical problem with this model. Some relieveing around the entrance to the chamber may help, but it's best to stick with .357 in this model Marlin.
