What is the first piece of technology?

Indeed a piece of paper can be technology cause wat else would you use to write on. huh? huh? ha cant answer can you!! hahahaModern man (homo sapiens sapiens) has never lived at any time without technology. As our pre-human ancestors made the first technologies and kept no records (keeping records actually requires several quite advanced technologies that work with each other) we can never know for certain what was "the first piece of technology". Even the very simplest and primitive stone, bone, antler, or wooden stick tool is technology and these appear in the fossil record with all of our earliest pre-human ancestors. Even chimpanzees, who last had a common ancestor with us 3 million years ago make simple wooden stick tools and thus have technology. It is thus quite reasonable to assume that the earliest technology predates our common ancestor with the chimpanzees and was probably made from a wooden stick, but we can't know for sure.

Who first invented techonology?

Tough question. Technology can be defined as applied science, so the real question is, "when was the first scientific research and experimentation done?" For recorded history I don't know. But I am sure that early man was inadvertently doing science and technology just to improve his survival rate.

What are some different areas of technology?

Information technology, matterial technology, computer technology, biological technology, etc. whatever you name it.

How long ago was technology invented?

There was always technology. When the wheel was invented it was a breakthrough in technology. What you consider technology is different from what it actually is.
