Tiger = Ti + Ger OR Blueberry = Blue + Berr + ee
The easiest way is to say the word aloud and count how many sounds or parts there are.You could also clap whilst saying the word. The amount of claps will be equal to the number of syllables.

The way I learned how to distinguish syllables from words is from an old trick my mom taught me when I was little. When you say a word clap your hands to a certain rhythm and you can find the syllables. Such as unhappily, un-hap-pi-ly if you cap along to it you can see the different syllables. :)
Easiest way to count syllables are to put your hand underneath your chin. Say the word and count how many times your chin goes down. That is how I usually do it. Table has two syllables in it. {tay-buhl}
