you should only change the gasket if you have to take the valve cover off....... you should only change the gasket if you have to take the valve cover off.......
Take off the valve cover. there is about 8 to 12 bolts. just take it off and take off the old gasket, then clean off old gasket residue with a razor knife, then install the new one and put the cover back on. the bolts dont need to be extremely tight.
to change the gaket youl have to drain all the oil out and change your oil fluid filter and gasket the gasket is the seal between your pan and car take pan off drain clean and put new gasket on pan and put it back on.
The only way to get to the intake manifold gasket is to take the head off. I'm working on it right now and so far that is all i can say
you shouldn't have to change them unless they are leaking, blown, or you take the heads off for a repair or rebuild
What solonoid?? If it is the starter solnoid, you have to take the starter off.
Remove the valve cover. Unbolt the head and remove it. Take the old gasket off and clean the gasket surface. Apply the new gasket and reverse the process.
Just take the valve off. Scrape the old gasket off and be carful not to get it in the crank case. It'll get in the oil if you do and can ruin your engine conponents. Then put the new gasket on and put the valve cover back on. Oh yeah take the sparkplugs out first and remember which one went where.
It should take about an hour to change the intake manifold gasket. This part can be replaced by taking off the intake manifold cover, cleaning the old gasket off and sealing a new gasket in the space and tightening the bolts. When other things are in the way, like the alternator, it will take longer.
no, you should just have to take out the bolts that keep the heads connected to the engine block, it may be sticky trying to take it off because of the gasket but it comes off.
I have a 1994 jetta. easiest way is to take the intake manifold off using Allen screws. Be sure to catch the gasket between the upper and lower half of the manifold. This gives easy access to all spark plugs.
Yes you do have to take off the starter and the guard for the fly wheel... WIll not take you long at all. Loosen them all first and then take them out.. tighten to 15 ft lb of torque.. careful to not blow out the rubber gasket.. as well as take off the oil filter tool.
