Yes The 8th " character " of the VIN indicates the engine size I ASSUME it would be the same on a 2000 Ford Windstar that " U " indicates the 3.0 liter " Vulcan " V6 engine I'm not sure what the letter is for the 3.8
The 8th digit should signify the engine size.
The engine code in the VIN will be a U for the 8-valve engine and a 6 for the 16-valve engine. My footnote for these also says the 1995 16-valve engine iis a California and New York model. The engine type digit is the sixth digit?letter in the VIN. Hope this helps.
Hi, the color or paint code is not in the VIN number. There should be a sticker on the under side of your trunk lid. It has the VIN and also several other groups of numbers. The color code is a number, at the bottom of the sticker and normally begins with "U" my impala is blue and the code is U 353E.
Two choices "S" or "U". this appears about midway in the vehicle vin. It's the 8th character in the VIN.Also, here's how I remember which one is which:"U" for Vulcan, 12 valve engine"S" for speed => Duratec/DOHC engine
open u eyes
u cant
You can find your engine VIN by typing your vehicle VIN here: http://www.motorcraft.com/catalog.do?goto=vin
The map sensor is mounted on the firewall (in the middle just below the windshield area).
well for $14.00 OR SO U CAN GO ON ALLDATADIY.COM AND GET A YEARLY SUBSCRIPTION FOR YOUR EXACY VEHICLE. BECAUSE THE INFORMATION U ARE GIVING IS NOT SPECIFIC ENOUGH. YOU NEED WHAT KIND OF DODGE IT IS AND WHAT THE ENGINE VIN CODE IS SO YOU CAN DETERMINE EXACTLEY WHAT 5.7L ENGINE YOU HAVE.
You have to call the acura dealer and give them your vin number and they will give u the code every car has a diffrent code
On a 2000 Ford Windstar : If the 8th digit of the VIN is a " 4 " it is the ( 3.8 liter / 232 cubic inch V6 ) Also , if it is a " U " it is the 3.0 liter / 183 cubic inch V6 engine
