Infants have around 80ml per kilogram blood volume (although the range can be from 50-100ml'kg). This steadily drops to the adult values of 50-70ml/kg. A 6 month old infant weighing approx 6 kg would have about 480mls of blood. 10mls taken out for blood samples would represent around 2% of the total blood volume Repeated blood sampling in infants may result in loss of significant blood volume and so the reason why paediatric sampling bottles are used which require much smaller volumes than adults Happy new year! To estimate blood volume of a new born baby the following calculation is used: EBV= weight (kg) * Average blood volume Average blood volume for a full term neonate is 85 mL/kg Average blood volume for a premature neonate is 95 mL/kg
A Human weighing about 70Kgs has a blood volume of about 5 litres
Add a liquid to the blood that can't be transported out of the lining of the blood vessels. Give it time to spread through the body. Then, take a blood sample and measure the percentage of the liquid in the blood. From the result, the blood volume can be estimated. total blood volume = ((1 - percentage)/percentage) x amount of liquid added
you never draw BLOOD from an infant from the baby

The answer to this question varies greatly with the size of an individual as would be expected. An adult weighing in around 160 pounds will have approximately 5 liters of blood, give or take a bit. Kids will of course have less, and a young infant may only have a matter of ounces.
Dear Fellow EMT student: According to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the answer is 100-200ml. (B)
All of the blood in and adults body cannot fit in a 2 litre bottle. The average person weighing between 150-180 lbs has 4-5 litres of blood so it is obvious that a 2 litre bottle will not hold that volume of blood.
A full grown horse has a TBV (total blood volume) of about 100 pints. That is about 12.5 gallons of blood.
