The experiential dimension of Judaism is the 613 mitzvoth (Torah-commands), plus the various customs. A few examples of the mitzvoth would be Sabbath, festivals, learning Torah, and keeping kosher. Some of the very long-standing customs are: covering the head, wishing someone "mazel tov" on a happy occasion, and eating dairy foods on the Shavuot festival (in addition to the regular festival meals). Some observances, while not being Torah-commands, are more binding than customs. Examples are: Hanukkah candles, and washing the hands before eating bread. Another experiential part of Judaism is in interpersonal relationships. In Judaism there is no place for being a hermit. Family and community relations are central.
