The new Kindle Wi Fi 3g has an experimental web browser that allows you to surf the web and connect to your accounts such as facebook and hotmail. The Wi Fi and 3G access is free for accessing the Amazon e-Book store, but there is nothing in their Terms and Conditions that say web surfing is free. With this in mind it is possible to check facebook from the Amazon Kindle but it is an experimental feature and it probably isn't free to do so.
Yes, kindle 2 and DX can search the web, but it has only a basic browser. To find this, press menu, experimental, and basic web. That should bring you to a bookmarks screen. This web will not work on Youtube, or other non-text based websites.
It does have an experimental WebKit-based web browser. You require a broadband wireless internet connection to use it.Personally, I don't think a web browser for an e-ink display is the best idea, but that's just my opinion.
Yes. Not everything, but almost. On Amazon's Silk Browser, Amazon has an experimental streaming viewer where you can watch content that requires Adobe. For example, Amazon's Experimental Streaming Viewer works on CBS.com and NBS.com. It also depends on how high the level of Adobe needs to be.
No , weblooker is not a web browser :)

The Kindle has a browser in the Experimental Apps section. You can access most web sites using it. It is a bit difficult to navigate, but it works fairly well.
