The firing order appears to be the same between a 3.1 and a 3.8 liter engine but the cylinders are numbered differently. In a 3.1, the front cylinders next to the radiator are 2, 4, and 6. In a 3.8, the same cylinders are 1, 3, and 5. ....Tom

The GM service manual says the order for the 3800 is 1-6-5-4-3-2.

answer3100 engines are numbered 1-3-5 left to right at the back and 2-4-6 on the front side, also left to right. The coil is connected to 5-2-3-6-4-1, again left to right.
