The first mention of the coming of the Messiah is found in Genesis 3:14-15 "And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel."
The seed of the woman is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. Some believe seed means the whole of the human race, but it will not be the human race that destroys Satan. It will be the Lord Jesus Christ; the Messiah of Israel.
Although several may have been asked if they were the Messiah by some people. Jesus Christ is the one and only Messiah.
Christians believe that the Messiah came once to live on earth as a human, and that He is now in Heaven, and will come back someday. So we are expecting His second coming, not His first coming.

Immediately after the fall of Adam and Eve, God implemented His plan of redemption, announcing His promise of the seed of the woman (Jesus Christ) who would redeem mankind. There are 154 verses in scripture which use the word new. Space does not allow me to mention them all, but the first is in Exodus ch.1 v 8 and the last is in Revelation ch 21 v 5. I hope this will surfice?
Although scripture states that Simon Peter and Andrew his brother were Jesus' first disciples, there is no mention of when Judas became a disciple apart from his appearance in the list of Jesus' followers.

We can say that the first prophet to clearly mention the coming of Jesus is the major prophet Isaiah who said 700 years before the birth of Jesus christ. That Jesus would come to save the world of their sin.
They simply did not believe in it. They were looking for a Messiah to save the nation from the Roman oppression (Luke 1.74,75); not a Saviour such as Jesus. They thought Jesus was simply a prophet, but some believed he was a devil, so if they did not believe in his first coming, how should they believe in his second coming?
