If this is an Excel question, you can underline words the same as in MS Word - use the 'U' icon or 'Format-font-underline'. The format is called 'underline', btw.

You can use the Format Painter or you can use copy and then Paste Special and choose to paste just the formats.
The entire cell contains cell organelles. The cytoplasm is the filler inside the cell that surrounds the organelles. The cell membrane, or cell wall depending on if it's a plant or animal cell, encloses the entire cell.
You would use the format painter to copy formatting from one cell to another cell or cells. You can also use copy and then use Paste Special to copy just the formatting.Use the copy command and then paste format.

You do not format a column, you format a cell. If course, you can format all cells in the column to accomplish what you are asking. To format an entire column, click on the letter at the top of the column, then select cell format and make your selections. Since there are hundreds of ways to format a cell, I will not list them all here. Some of the ways to format cells are: by color (cell background and font), by font attribute (bold, face, size, etc.), cell border (multiple assortment of lines and colors), by number attribute (time, percent, currency, etc.), and many more.

There are many different formats for displaying numbers in an Excel cell including a general format, a currency format, a percentage format and an accounting format.
Right-click on the cell or range of cells you want to change and click on cell format. From the cell format window, select a number format of currency.
