Setting injection timing on a diesel requires specialized equipment, it should never be attempted if you don't know the procedure. You can easily end up with an engine that won't run or runs very poorly.
You need to prime the fuel injection system.
By the vehicle's nomenclature, it would seem so - "EFI" stands for "Electronic Fuel Injection", and usually implies a direct injection system (as opposed to indirect injection or common rail injection).
The engine computer will try to adjust fuel and timing to make the after cat O2 sensor read properly. With no cat that will be impossible. This will cause the fuel mixture to swing wildly from rich to lean until the point that the computer sets a code. It will then run in a default fuel/timing setting that will be at a reduced power level with lower fuel economy. The engine computer will try to adjust fuel and timing to make the after cat O2 sensor read properly. You can adjust the injection pump on your 3406 Caterpillar engine by turning the adjustment screw on the top of the fuel pump. The adjustment screw controls how much fuel the pump sense to the engine.
If the engine was designed to run with a cat fitted, the answer is yes, but the emissions would be out of acceptable limits. Most diesels are not cat equipped, but by the nature of being a diesel, they are injection engines. Know that is is illegal to remove a catalytic converter without replacing it with another one.
From Drag Times, "Sequential Central Point Injection (SCPI)GM refined the CPI system into a sequential central port injection (SCPI) system in the mid-1990s. It used valves to meter the fuel to just the cylinders that were in the intake phase. " By all acounts, as much use as a cat-flap in a parachute, apparently .
Ignition timing has no adjustment on these bikes.
The timing marks on an Arctic Cat 375 is on the inspection plug. It is a plug that can be removed from the flywheel cover.
where is the fuel filter on a bob cat and what does it look like
a lethal injection
An air pump pumps in fresh air into the exhaust system before the catalytic converter to help the cat converter burn unburned fuel = cleaner emissions.
