According to my Chilton's Auto Repair Manual :
For the 2.3 litre four cylinder engines used in a 1990 Ford Tempo :
8th " character " of the VIN is an " X " ( 45 to 60 PSI )
8th " character " of the VIN is an " S " ( 50 to 60 PSI )
The module is about 6"x4"x2" and has gobs of wires coming out of it, the module is mounted on a bracket under the hood that is bolted to the top of the driver's side front strut.
Take it to jasper they rebuild any motor.

i called the ford dealership they recominded that u not do it yoursealf unless you had a full shop worth of equipment i have a 93 ford ranger 2.3L 5speed and i had it done by a local mechanic for 300 i bout the parts myself it was worth it..
