The Vicksburg National Military park is part of the National Parks and it preserves the battle field of Vicksburg. Much of the landscape is very much like it was during the battle with the trenches and earthworks but with a lot of errosion over the years. The Park is full of monuments and markers that show the position of almost every regiment that fought in the trenches.
