Push down the buffer retaining pin and remove the buffer and recoil spring from the stock. Pull out the firing pin retaining pin from the bolt carrier and remove the firing pin. Finally, remove the bolt cam pin and remove the bolt from the bolt carrier. To reassemble the M4, reverse these steps.
