I would suggest first looking on the inside of the fuse box(s) cover, where it should show the location/purpose of each fuse. If not, reference the vehicles manual for the fuse that corelates to the lighter.
I am not quite sure what you mean? Why do you need a fuse?
The fuse is located in the main fuse box under the dash on the drivers side and its the number 17 fuse, 15 amp for the a/c compressor clutch...........
According to the owners manual it's number 18. however pulling this did not disable the seat belts for me.
there is a brake light fuse in the pannel you just need to look for it.
Start off by opening the glove box their should be a legend saying what fuses do what find the number that is for the fuel gage, look under the steering wheel and you will see a fuse box pull out the bad fuse and replace it with another fuse make sure to use right ampage.
Something shorted together the positive and negative terminals in the lighter socket, and blew a fuse. You need to find out what shorted the terminals - maybe the charger, maybe the charger plug, or maybe something metal fell into the light socket. Then you can replace the fuse and find out whether you really fixed the trouble.
Try MOTORLIT.COM for an owners manual.
The fuse block should be located to the left of the steering column, under the dash. Depending on which Mercury GS you have (sable, topaz, etc.) it should be a relay located in the fuse block.
