Yes your compressor comes when you set your thermostat to "Fan" setting and you have it on cool setting.
More than likely you have the directional control set to Defrost. At this setting, the A/C compressor will run continuously. Move the selector to another setting, and see if the compressor stops running.
thermostat setting /very low gas pressure or compressor not working.
Your contactor in the outdoor unit is stuck closed.
The ac unit compressor will run when it is in defroster mode and heat setting is on.
What is the relationship between the setting and the plot in The Crucible?
it depends on how loud it really is, because unless it's unusually loud then yes it's normal. All that is, is you compressor cycling on and off to your temperature setting. When the temperature goes above the setting it turns on so it doesn't get too hot. When the temp falls below the compressor will shut off so it don't get too coldAnswerit depends on how loud it really is, because unless it's unusually loud then yes it's normal. Setting creates a scene.
Outdoor setting is louder.
When you select the defrost setting , the air conditioning compressor will kick in and out to help dehumidify the air , that's normal to hear the compressor kicking in and out
Apparently you can. I'm in the process of doing this now on a 1997 sl2. The belt route diagram shows both routes. I believe you will lose the air dryer with the defrost setting but for a short term solution the cars back on the road. I also unplugged the clutch assemblyon the compressor. The new A/C clutch assembly is $142 and has to be ordered. I only found one parts store that will order it for me.
