5000 lbs. !!!!!! Just had mine weighed to win a bet :)
About 10 to 14 mpg
starts out about 17mpg but will increase to around 20mg driving at 60mph with mileage
I've seen 360, 390 and 460 all said to be standard.
All of the engine sensors can affect fuel mileage.
i have the same engine in a 1984 e350 and i get about 8
I have both a '78 F250 trailer special and a '78 F350 camper special. They both have the same engine and transmission. My camper special has an extended wheel base( not all have this feature, only a few) and a double leaf spring in the back. It came from the factory with camper tie-downs instaled. It also has the spare tire were the side utility box is on my trailer special. My trailer special has a larger rear axle, I think its a 10.5in as opposed to a 9.0in the camper special. Other than that they are pretty much the same truck. Hope this helps. 78_ford_fanatic

The avgerage gas mileage is around 15 to 17 miles. However, you can save miles with less load in the back of the truck. You r gas mileage depends a great deal on your driving habits so the range can be broad. On average a ford f250 diesel gets between 10-18 mpg.
I would think a Dana 44 up front and a Dana 60 in the rear, that's what a 77 ford f250 super camper special had anyway. That's correct. - JT owner 1979 f350 crewcab
