adrenaline.
Fight or flight. When we are confronted by something that we've never experienced before, our brain initiates the 'fight or flight' response. It makes us either face up to the problem, or flee to preserve our health.
These are two interchangeable terms for the hormone that is secreted from the adrenal gland when our body perceives a threat. It is responsible for the “fight or flight” reaction. Epinephrine activates the body’s energy reserves thus keeping us safe by allowing us to fight for survival, or to flee from dangerous situations. It causes increased heart rate; blood pressure and blood flow to the brain, muscles, lungs and heart. Unfortunately the body produces the same response to real physical threat & mental or emotional stress.
Adrenaline is the "Fight or Flight" response. When something is scarring you, and your body determines the threat to be actual to yourself it realizes a hormone that has your heart rate increases, along with your breathing. It gives you a lot of energy, so you can "Fight" the danger, or "flight" In evolution, the cavemen who had the reaction survived. Thereby, had children and let their children have it. It's a survival mechanism, and just as useful as us breathing when we're not thinking about it. Adrenaline gives us more energy to defend ourselves against danger. It helps us fight our danger, or flee. We feel the jolt of nervous energy, our heart pounding in our chests-- It is triggered by fear, and the presence of danger, real or imagined. Hope this helped. -Joe
