To find the Ford Escape V6 thermostat, located the top radiator hose. Trace the hose to the location where it meets the water pump. Inside the hose at this location is where the thermostat is located.
The thermostat, in your 2003 Ford Escape, by removing the water hose and the 3 bolts from the thermostat housing. The thermostat will easily come out. Reverse the process to install the new thermostat.
At the front of the engine , follow the bottom radiator hose from the radiator , it connects to the water pump
Let the engine cool down. Locate the lower water hose at the bottom of the radiator. Unfasten the clamp or clamps, pull on the hose and the water comes out.
I've had this problem on my 01 Escape and had to have the front brake hose replaced. According to the mechanic, Ford has had a lot of problems with these hoses. I'm replacing the rear hose tomorrow.
If you have the 4.0 liter SOHC , V6 engine just follow the bottom radiator hose , it connects to the water pump
Power steering hoses can be replaced if they leak.

Remove the bottom radiator hose on your 1996 Chevy Lumina radiator. Put a water hose in the top of the radiator. Allow the water hose to run until the water draining from the bottom of the radiator runs clear.
