It will probably be more work than it's worth. The computers aren't compatable.
The 2002 Honda Civic EX came with a 1.7 SOHC VTEC (D17A2 engine). The 2.0 (K20A3) engine was for the Si only.
no lx has vtec,,, no the only EX had vtec's
VTEC is the name Honda has titled their version of variable valve timing technology. Some Honda vehicles have them, some do not. For example, 1992-2000 Honda Civic models had VTEC, but only with EX and Si trim levels in the United States.
Your car is VTEC already.
Unless you are skilled and have the proper tools, this is not a DIY job. Severe damage can be done to the engine if this is done incorrectly. Pay a tech to do this job.
Nothing. you may lose some performance but your B16A2 has a knock sensor since it is a Vtec engine. So if your engine has a knock, the computer will retard the ignition timing.
127, although I think some have the vtec cylinoid but don't have vtec
regular civic 1998 from DX to LX has non vtec D series, EX has D series Vtec single cam. Si has B16 dual came Vtec
Your Honda Civic VTEC Turbo may fail to turn on due to wear on your Turbo.
its vtec not vtech.
Unfortunately no. Even the higher LX, EX and Si trims were non-vtec in 1990. Here in the US market, the first models to feature vtec were the 91 NSX, the 91 Integra GSR, and the 92 Civic Si. In Japan, there was a 1990 Civic that had vtec, the Civic SiR and Civic Special Edition. In Some other markets there was a similar model, the Vti/Vti-R.
