The South Pole is at 90 degrees S latitude.
The North Pole is at 90 degrees N latitude.
All lines of longitude converge at both poles.
Additionally, there is the "Prime Meridian" based on Greenwich, England at 0 degrees longitude, and the "International Date Line" which, with a few aberrations to avoid crossing land, runs more or less in a straight line at 180 degrees longitude.

Meridians are used for time-measurement, the time being 12:00 noon when the Sun is directly over the meridian.
The best-known one is the Greenwich Meridian, which is numbered 0º.
