Basically it was when Britten shut down places like Boston harbor until the colonists payed back the British for the french and Indian war. The British say colonists must pay them because the British protected them from the attack from the french and Indians but colonists believe that Britten joined the war for wealth and land that's the reason that Britten wanted the payment in the first place.
