Tuvalu is an independent, constitutional monarchy in the southwest Pacific Ocean. The name, Tuvalu, translates to "eight standing together", referring to the eight historically inhabited of the nine islands (coral atolls) that comprise the nation. One of its leading sources of income, Tuvau derives royalties from the lease of its ".tv" internet domain name.
