What is the knocking popping sound we hear when turning taking off and bumps?

I had a popping/rolling sound whenever I would take off or slow down in my '04 pacifica. I took it to a dealer and they said my motor mount was cracked in 2 places sending a vibration throughout the frame of the vehicle. Replaced the motor mount and the popping.rolling sound has gone away.
