The institution is a public service broadcaster from the United Kingdom, known as the 'BBC' with its two additional arms being 'BBC World Service' and 'BBC Worldwide'.
Each branch is financed differently; domestically a yearly licence fee is paid by UK households, 'World Service' is funded by an English government grant and 'Worldwide' the commercial arm via income from subscriptions.
Any profit obtained from selling of programmes to other international stations or from the BBC's commercial arm are used for further investment in future programming and services.
