If you drink when you are at your teens, nothing will happen. You will be drinking in such a way that nobody notices. Even your parents won't notice your drinking. You are so cautious and afraid of any elder noticing you drink. But if you cross the limit and come out with a 'damn care' attitude, laws of your country will put you in a rehabs or a juvenile jail.

The legal age for consuming alcohol within the continental US is 21. How the law for underage drinking is applied depends upon the circumstances. For example, if a minor is stopped while operating a vehicle and he or she has been drinking (they do not need to be legally 'drunk') the consequences are much more severe than if the minor was charged with public intoxication.

The laws vary from country to country. In the US you must be 21 to consume alcohol, though there are some exceptions for people in their homes.
