According to CPS (child protective services), the legal "latchkey" age for children to be home alone during daylight/business hours is as young as 8 years old. The legal age for a child to babysit his/her own siblings during any time, but not overnight, is 11 years old. The legal age for a child to babysit children who are not siblings is 12 years old.
Any age, but realistically people want someone about 12 or older. Because you'll have more experience and the parents will feel comfortable knowing their child isn't being watched by a child themselves.
Anything is legal. As long as your older than the kids, and you are old enough to know how to take care of the kids. In my town, it's about 11 or 12, sometimes 10.
well, technically, an 11 yr. old shouldn't be babysitting. they would have to wait a year for them to be legally allowed to babysit by themselves without supervision for more than an hour.

It really depends on where you live
You must be 14 years old to babysit a child in New Zealand.
You don't have to be a certain age to babysit at home. It is up to the parent and the parents of the children you are babysitting. The youngest age is usually 12.
