For vehicles used before 1st April 1985, the windscreen and front side windows must let at least 70% of light through.

For vehicles used on or after 1st April 1985, the windscreen must let at least 75% of light through and the front side windows must let at least 70% in.

There are no restrictions on rear windscreen or rear window tints.
