Invading North Korea brought in Red China. During the Vietnam War, we chose not to invade North Vietnam.
It also taught them not to involve in local disputes in the future.
it also taght UN not to use nuclear weopons
1. When invading a country close to a communist super-power, be prepared to fight them too; as they'll most likely conduct a counter attack (as Red China did, by entering the war).
2. Place straw vegetation under the tank tracks when stopped for long periods of time on frozen sub-zero terrain; otherwise your tank tracks will stick to the ground.
3. Jets have less loitering time above target than propeller driven airplanes do.
4. When firing a weapon that makes a distinctive noise when it's empty (like the M1 Garand rifle did) either have another man ready with a weapon next to you; or have a back-up weapon ready to use immediately! It only takes one battle for the enemy to learn that "you are re-loading"; and he'll counter-attack immediately at that time and if he dies you better get up fast!
a lesson learned was that it was a no reason war. The UN put back the Koreans but it stopped were it began.
