What makes the light is bacteria that has moved into that little ball above their head. The bacteria multiplies and soon enough their collective growth makes it bright.
There isn't really a name but fish like Angler Fish, Viperfish, etc. have light on its head
With their eyes. no with the light on the top of it's head.
Almost anything that is attracted to the light on its head.
is a species of angler fish.
with a glowing light that stickes out from the top of its head, the light glows because of speacil bacteria in it.
It is called a hairy boob.
a bone-head
A mouthful of prominent sharp teeth and a 'fishing rod' coming out of its head with a light on the end, to attract meals in the depths of the trenches you'll find these huge fish. Hence, the name, angler fish because he fishes for his food. Aka the monkfish. It can be eaten and is quite sought after for that and sportfishing. The females are 200 X bigger than the males, who latch onto the females side and die, leaving their reproductive organs for the female to use at her leisure. Quite interesting fish.
yes and they light up to attract other fish then eat them!
The angler fish lives here (the fish with the light in its head like the one in finding nemo):)
Does it look like this? http://ionceknewagirl.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/29_angler_fish.jpg if so then its an angler fish.
An angler fish has a lure on its head that glows. There are more, but what they are called, I know now!
