What is the location of the thermostat on a 1999 dodge Dakota 3.9L V6?

It is under the housing that the upper radiator hose hooks to on the engine. Yup, It's right behind the alternator. I'm pretty sure you have to remove it in order to get to the thermostat. Good luck ......
