What is the main difference between the different Mitsubishi 73 inch tv models?

The WD-73740 has one option the 640 has and that is an internet hookup or optional wireless adapter if don't have hard wired ethernet available close by. It allows you to view vudu, facebook, twitter, Pandora to name a few BUT!!! to my disappointment they don't have Netflix or Hulu available so if you have those now you will need to continue using it with that device attached to TV. From what I can see that is the only difference from 640 to 740.
The WD-73840 has 4 more options including the one above I just mentioned of internet streaming TV options.
2. It has a 16 speaker bar array built in to front that is supposed to give you surround sound effect without the surround sound audio system. They have optional wireless sub woofer and optional wireless rear speaker that can be used along with this 16 speaker array for complete surround sound system. If you have your own surround sound system you can make that 16 array speaker system your front center speaker through settings it says.
3. 4 HDMI ports where I'm not sure how many the other 2 models have but I think one or both are only 3.
4. Has Bluetooth capabilities so you can pair your bluetooth audio devices to TV and listen to music wirelessly. This will work with iphone, ipad & other audio bluetooth devices.
