Australia has it share of people that either need an excuse to beat up on some one, just for a bit of sport, or are thieves that lurk in dark places waiting for a victim to rob. We are fortunate in that it is not a big problem in this country. And no doubt the news papers are disappointed that it does not happen more often as they had to blow the problem totally out of proportion.
New Zealand and Australia have many similarities in history and non-indigenous culture and also have a fairly close relationship because of these similarities and their isolation from other similar cultures.
