Cache simply is for speeding up the processes already completed, since it is faster than ram, and easier to access. it basically is just for speeding up applications you use often. cache is volatile meaning that it is erased when you turn off your computer.

The cache memory in your computer stores copies of the most frequent and recently used data, usually very small. It does this to reduce access to the main memory which would take longer to access and upload.

Caches are relatively small when manufactured to keep the cost of computers down. Bigger caches can be installed

Cache memory is only for enhance computer performance.it is not a temporary memory.when we use any programme frequently its stored and then its send to a cpu without any link to a memory

Why is cache memory more expensive than hard disk?

as the cache memory is mory faster than RAM or hard disk ,but the main reason is that the cache memory has comparator and storage medium at the same time, the comparator checks if the address of the value being accessed is in the associative memory(a part of cache)or not, and the ordinary memory(another part of cache)has the data....

Why not make cache larger?

A cache is intended to speed things up. The larger the cache, the slower it performs. If it becomes slower to access the cache than the memory itself, it defeats the purpose of having a cache.

Is cache memory visible?

No cache memory is not visible.....

Cache memory and register memory?

Register memory are smaller in size than cache memory and registers are faster than cache..Cache memory store the frequently used data from main memory..

What type of RAM is used for cache memory?

sram is used for cache for cache memory.

What makes cache memory quicker than DRAM?

Cache memory is stored on the processor. Dram memory is stored on the ram chips. It is analogous to having papers on your desk and having papers in the file cabinet across the room. You can get to both but you can get to the papers on your desk a whole lot faster.

What is the recommended size of cache memory in a processor?

The maximum size of a cache memory is theoretically equal to the amount of primary memory(RAM).Like Cache only memory architecture where the whole memory space is filled up with the cache only.

Why is cache memory needed?

Cache Memory is needed because Hardware implements cache as a block of memory for temporary storage likely to be used again.

What is the difference between cache-memory and primary-memory?

Cache memory is smaller and quicker, primary memory larger and slower.

What is the difference between cache memory disk cache?

memory cache is on memory RAM, disk Cache is on the hard drive. They make things to get faster. For instance Google Earth use this disk cache to show you offline images.
