The Russian composer Igor Stravinsky (1882-1971) wrote 'Rite of Spring' in 1913.
Le sacre du printemps, the Rite of Spring (Holy Spring in the original Russian)
a pagan ritual. The Rite of Spring is likely based on the pagan ceremonies at the time the ballet was written.

The Rites of May were carried out every Spring in England and other European countries (and still are in some country villages). They took place on May 1 or Beltane and involved games, drinking and feasting and dancing (especially Morris and Maypole dancing). There were also offerings to the Pagan gods seeking a good growing season and a good harvest. Many English villages still have the Maypole to the top of which coloured tapes are fixed so that children can weave patterns on the pole by dancing round it.
Easter goes back over a thousand years. It was celebrated by the pagan tribes as the rebirth of the world and the Catholic Church took the pagan ritual and turned into a religious rite for the church.

"The Rite of Spring" by composer Igor Stravinsky is based on pagan rituals celebrating the arrival of spring and a young girl chosen as a sacrificial virgin to ensure the fertility of the land. The ballet explores themes of ritualistic sacrifice, renewal, and the clash between tradition and modernity.
The most famous (and controversial) composition created by Stravinsky was a ballet entitled The Rite of Spring. He composed it in 1913 and it was based on old Russian pagan traditions.

The Rite of Spring is a contemporary ballet shoreographed by Vaslav Nijinsky with music by Igor Stravinsky. It follows a pagan tribe and their ceremonies to honor their gods, culminating in sacrificing a virgin to the God of Spring. The virgin, encircled by the men in the tribe disguised as bears, dances herself to death, and in the end is offered to the God.
This depends upon which Pagan tradition you are asking about. I am a legally ordained Wiccan High Priestess; but even here, I need to know what tradition of Wicca/Witchcraft you are asking about. Please add more info to your question and I will answer back! Blessed Be!

All of their routines were quite unusual but none of them contained such elements :-). They participated at the Olympics in 1988 with dance called "Savage Rite" and in the 1990 World Championship with a dance called "Missing" which was acclaimed to be the greatest dance in history at the time. You can see both dances on You Tube
