Travel safe my friend.
Rafiki yangu
Hello friend= Jambo rafiki / Hello my friend= Jambo rafiki yangu... And if you want to say friends=marafiki.. -Lola :)
Ahsanteni, ndugu na rafiki zangu.Thank you is ahsante, but becomes ahsanteni to more thqn one person. The word familia is used in Swahili, as is the word jamii for family. But in this context ndugu would be a better choice because it means all one's relatives present. Rafiki means friend. The standard olural is also rafiki , unchanged but marafiki is often heard these days. Zangu in the sentence is the possessive adjective "my." applied to the two plurals ndugu and rafiki. If the nouns were singular, the poss. adj. would be yangu.
Not a swahili word. The questioner might have misread yangu, which is a form of the possessive adjective -angu, which agree with the noun is modified, e.g.:meza yangu, my tablefeni yangu, my fankiti changu, my chairgari langu, my car
To say "for my brother and sister" in Swahili, you can say "kwa ndugu yangu na dada yangu".
Alexis Mbali Yangu has written "The Girl with the Louding Voice," a novel that follows a courageous young girl in Nigeria who dreams of getting an education and becoming empowered.
Furaha ya maisha yangu.
Rafiki = friend. The plural is rafiki, same as the singular, but the new plural marafiki is growing in use. Note: Ndugu means brother or sister or relative in general. It is often used in address to friends, ndugu yangu, my brother (relative). Under the former Tanzanian system of Ujamaa (familyhood or socialism) it became the common form of address for both sexes, like "comrade" in Communist countries. It is still so used by many people, especially older ones. The President, for example, is called Ndugu Jakaya Kikwete. Ndugu is also the plural form, e.g., Ndugu zangu (my relatives).
