The graph of Snell's Law is used to calculate the Refractive Index of a material. Sin (i) over sin (r) gives you your refractive Index. This is diffrent for Diffrent materials. IE refractive Index in a:

Vaccum = 1

Water =1.33

Glass = Average of about 1.5, depending on what type of glass

Diamond = 2.42

Air (STP) = 1.0003

What are the snells law of refraction?

Snell's law states that the ratio of the sines of the angles of incidence and refraction is equivalent to the ratio of velocities in the two media, or equivalent to the opposite ratio of the indices of refraction:
