The village was located in East Prussia, part of Kreis Pillkallen, and renamed in 1938 to Jägerswalde. After WWII it became part of the Soviet Union and was renamed in 1946 to Svobodnoye (Свободное). It's currently part of the Kaliningrad Oblast and probably near what's left of Pillkallen, which is currently called Dobrovol'sk (Добровольск).

That's sort of where the trail runs cold - I couldn't find the original village of Girrehleschken on old maps of East Prussia, and none of the on-line maps have the current Russian name listed, so the odds are that it was destroyed during the last years of WWII.

In case this is for genealogical research, there is a Yahoo group for Pillkallen (in German).
