The molar mass of H2O is about 18.02 grams.

It can be calculated by adding up the atomic masses. For example, in H2O, there are 2 atoms of Hydrogen and 1 atom of Oxygen. the atomic mass of 1 Hydrogen atom is 1.008u and that of Oxygen is 16u. So, if you multiply 2 with 1.008 you get the mass of Hydrogen in the water molecule as there are 2 atoms of Hydrogen. 2*1.008=2.016. Adding this to 16, you get the molar mass of water, 16+2.016=18.016 which is equal to 18.02 grams.

18 because each hydrogen has 1 amu and oxygen has 16 amu

amu is basically the same as grams so it's 18 grams

What is the gram formula mass for H2O?

H2O's molar mass is 18 g/mol.

Molar mass of 158g of ice?

The molar mass of water (H2O) is 18. Ice is water in it's solid state.

What compound has a molar mass of 18 grams?

Water. Remember the equation Moles = mass(g) / Mr (Relative Molecular Mass) So Molar Mass(g) is = to moles X Mr. or Mr = mass(g) /moles Since ther mass is 18 g and molar mass is 1 mole Then substitute Mr = 18g / 1 = 18 So referring to the Periodic Table. for elements with an atomic below 18 . We have oxygen at 16 and hydrogen at 1 So 16 + 1 + 1 = 18 . Hence oxygen + 2 hydrogen = water (H2O).

How many moles are in 19.58 g?

To convert moles into grams, you need to first know the Molar Mass. The Molar Mass can be defined as the (mass in grams of the substance)/(1 mole of the substance) If you have 19.58 g of something, you need to use stoichiometry or dimensional analysis to convert it into moles. Examples: ( 19.580 g H2O ) * ( 1 mole H2O / 18.016 g H2O ) = 1.0868 mole H2O What I did is I took the grams given of H2O (for ex.) and multiplied it by the Molar Mass. The Molar Mass of water is 18.016 g for every mole of water. However, since I wanted to cancel out the units, I put the grams of H2O on the bottom. So basically its like multiply a number with a value that equals 1 to convert something. Logical example: Given: Find the number of ounces in 1 pound. ( 19.580 lb.) * (16.000 oz. / 1.0000 lb. ) = 313.28 oz Get it?

How many moles of water molecules h2o are present in a 27 rams sample of water?

Mass of a mole?

The molar mass of an element is its atomic weight in grams. The molar mass of a molecule or compound is the sum of the subscripts times the molar masses in grams. For example, the molar mass of hydrogen, H, is 1.00794g and the molar mass of oxygen, O, is 15.9994g. The molar mass of water, H2O, is (2 x 1.00794g) + (1 x 15.9994g O) = 18.01528g.

What is a molar mass and what is it used for?

The molar mass is the sum of atomic weight of the atoms contained in a molecule. Example: water, H2O The molar mass is: 2 x 1,008 + 15,999 = 18,015 Molar mass is used in many calculus in chemistry.

Find the molar mass of 7H2O?
