The Buenos Aires English tourism website says "Argentine peso" is the official money. It shares the same symbol as the dollar sign which can be a bit confusing. Interestingly enough, the Buenos Aires website shares it differentiates U.S. prices from Argentine prices by listing $ for Argentine prices and U$S for U.S. prices. The XE currency converter lists the official Argentine peso abbreviation as ARS and states that the current exchange rate is about 15 ARS to 1 U.S. dollar (USD). I found both of these resources on Google by searching for "Argentina money".
