The most famous Nuclear disaster in Europe was the 1986 Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Disaster in Ukraine. Nuclear radiation from an explosion in one of the four reactors leaked into the surrounding area and the near by city of Pripyat. Over 50,000 people had to be evacuated. 50 workers and firemen were killed and thousands of others died of cancers related with being exposed to the radiation from the disaster. Chernobyl and Pripyat are still heavily radioactive today and can still cause nuclear mutations if exposed for to long.
There are two famous nuclear incidents that happened in Europe. They are: October 7, 1957 near London, England - A fire broke out in a graphite-cooled reactor north of London and spewed radioactive contamination over a 200 square mile area. 1976 - Greifswald, East Germany - Also the result of a fire, a near melt-down occurred at the Lubmin power plant due to safety system failure.
the most famous disater is the earthquake in chile.
A nuclear disaster may occur when the radioactive materials are mishandled and which may lead to radioactive exposure or a chain reaction of nuclear fission, fusion. Most of these disasters are induced by the man made mistakes.
