There doesn't seem to be any info posted on the National Bartenders Association website as to the most popular cocktail. Having been a bartender for nearly fifteen years during the 70's and 80's though, I can say that the most requested cocktail by far was the martini. With the current popularity of martinis I'm guessing this hasn't changed.
