That's a huge question. Common to what? Exact software, down to the version, or just a broad category?

The majority of users have a web browser, since the internet wouldn't be much good to average users without a browser to see all the goodies in. Most users also have some sort of office programs (for instance, Word, Excel, etc.).

Beyond that, there's a ton of apps that come pre-installed with Windows (and other operating systems as well) many of which people don't use, but some people just assume are part of the OS even though they're not. There's also tons of little things that people download and use a lot, such as toolbars, social media apps, music apps, etc.

Let's not forget Anti-Virus software. I can't really be more specific unless you make the question less of a broad stroke.
