To the best of my knowledge, the term "microorganisms" is itself a common name/terminology covering various types of microorganisms like algae, bacteria, fungi, virus, etc. They can also be called germs or bugs.
There isn't one common name that encompasses all prokaryotes. The term classifies organisms that do not have a cell nucleus. Two major classification domains fall under prokaryotes - bacteria (which is probably the closest thing to a common name for prokaryotes) and archaea.
