One of the most beloved, most famous, most recent Italian riders is Rinaldo Nocentini [b. September 25, 1977]. Nocentini is a racing cyclist with UCI ProTeam Ag2r-La Mondiale. He participated in the 2009 Tour de France. Despite it being his first involvement, Nocentini managed to hold the yellow jersey for eight stages, from stage 7 until stage 15. In fact, it was the formidable Olympic gold medalist and UCI Pro Tour Team Saxo Bank cyclist Fabian Cancellana [b. March 18, 1981] whom Nocentini succeeded as General Classification leader.
